Ashley's first date on Monday nights episode of The Bachelorette was with Ben C.
She started it off by taking him to a dance studio and taught him a dance that she had coreographed herself.
He didn't ask why he was learning it. He just assumed this was something she loved to do and so she made it a part of the date. Little did he know what was in store for him! They later went for a picnic in a shopping area and Ashley asked Ben if he wanted to start doing the dance he learned. "Right now? Here?"
So, they did. And all of the sudden people that were standing around and watching jumped in there with them and they created a flash mob!
Seriously? What a lame date. But they seemed to have fun and enjoy it so, kudos to them. Then they enjoyed a small concert from Far East Movement (a band).
Moving on to the group date portion of the episode, Ashely invited Bentley, William, Ryan P., Lucas, Ames, Nick, Jeff, Blake, and Ben F. along on this one. But, first, Jeff (the masked man) had a little business to take care of. He pulled Ashley aside before they left for the date and revealed his face to her! Finally, the mask comes off! And here he is ladies and gentlemen...the man behind the mask!
Is he everything you hoped for?
Moving on. Now for the group date. ABC decided on the WORT DATE IDEA EVER for the group date. Really. It was a really bad idea. Way to set up the bachelors for failure. Ashley took all the guys to a "Roast". Not the kind with food. They had the King of Roasts, Jeffrey Ross, coach the guys into roasting...who else?...Ashley.
So, the guys broke up into groups and wrote their material. A few even had some help from the king himself.
Surprise guys! You will be roasting Ashley in front of a live audience AND it's a sold-out show!
For the most part the guys made Ashley laugh.
Until William stepped up to the plate...
William took his routine a little too far when he said "Geeze, I signed up for the Bachelorette expecting Chantal or Emily to be here and I get here and it's Ashley!" Boo William. Ashley did not find that humorous. William was so embarrased he almost wanted to leave the show, but he had a feeling that he was meant to stay so, he did.
Now we move on to Bentley's portion of the episode. Bentley woke up the next morning and decided he wasn't attracted to Ashley at all and wants to leave. He proceeds to tell the cameras "I'm going to mess with her head, make her cry. I'm going to tell her I miss my daughter, but really I'm leaving because i'm not that into her." So, he does. He makes her cry and she's really sad. She asks if he's going to come back and he says no.
There is more, but Bentley is not worth my blogging time. If you want to watch the video of him dumping her, you can find it here. That video link will tell you all you need to know about dear Bentley from Salt Lake City.
Needless to say, Ashley was feeling really beaten up about this week's events so, she wasn't too excited to have a one-on-one date with J.P. later in the episode.
She asks J.P. if he's ok with just a night in by the fire in their pajamas. She got J.P. into his P.J.'s! They had a nice dinner together and good conversation, but I see some red flags with this one. I think she did, too.
There was no cocktail party before the rose ceremony because Ashley had already made up her mind as to who was going home. She sent home Chris D. and Jeff (masked guy who is now unmasked).
Then Bentley sent himself home. Clearly she's better off without him!
