Ashley Hebert - Episode 10

The finale is finally here!

On tonight's episode, the guys got to meet Ashley's family.  The first to meet the crew was J.P.
He was pretty nervous to meet everyone, but Ashley assured him that her family would just love him!  Well, she was mostly right.  Everyone loved him EXCEPT here sister.  Her sister had some tough questions right off the bat like "Does he make you laugh?"  Apparently, that was such a tough question that neither Ashley nor J.P. could really give a straight answer.  Eyebrows were a raising.  Her sister sits down with Ashley for a chat and tells her that she does not think J.P. is the one for her.  "You're too much for him."  Ashley instantly breaks down in tears because, above all, her sisters opinion meant the most to her and to hear that makes her sad.  Very, very sad.  Ashley feels that it's unfair for her sister to pass judgement on J.P. so soon after meeting him.  So, her sister pulls J.P. aside and talks to him a little bit more.  She's very honest with J.P. and tells him that she just "doesn't see it there" between them and that she would not be happy if J.P. proposed in the end.  Ouch.

Ashley is concerned with her sisters opinion and decides to have another chat with her.  Things go from bad to worse and her sister tried to convince her that "I'm trying to protect you from yourself."

Then it was Ben's turn to meet the fam.
Ben gets off on the right foot with the whole family.  Once again, Ashley's sister pulls him aside and asks the tough questions.  He passes with flying colors and even admits to her that he's in love with Ashley.  Ben felt very accepted by Ashley's whole family.  That's all I got on Ben's meet-and-greet.  It was pretty perfect.

Then it was on to the final dates of the season.  Ben was up first.  They took a helicopter ride above Fiji and took in the sights.  When they landed they enjoyed a sensual mud bath together.  It appears as though things are progressing as they should.  Bow-chicka-wow-wow.  After the bath, they meet up for some dessert and Ben finds his opportunity to tell Ashley how he feels about her.  He's in love.  "We're just two kids in love."

The final date was with J.P. and Ashley decided to start things off with a heart-to-heart about what went down with her sister.  J.P. understands that she values her sisters opinion and really hopes that this doesn't change things between them.  "We are the perfect fit." he tells her.  "I am madly in love with you!"  Later they met up in her hotel room and J.P. gave her a gift.  It was a picture of them lying on the beach and it was inside the first page of a photo album.  "If you pick me, we'll fill the rest of it up together."  He wrote her a cute note about how much he cares for her.  Ashley loved the gift.

The next day the guys went out and picked out their rings for Ashley.  They both planned on proposing so, it was important to have the ring!

I won't leave you in suspense any longer.  Ashley ended up picking...

Drum roll, please...

J.P.!
J.P. did a cute little proposal to which Ashley said "YES!"  They are so in love and plan on making lots and lots of babies together.  Ben walked away crushed, but it's all in the name of love.  He'll find someone else, i'm sure.  The show ended with a somewhat cheesy song.  They frolicked in the ocean to the song "I can't fight this feeling anymore" by REO Speedwagon.  Yes, frolicked in the ocean.  Oh well, at least it was a happy ending. :)

Ashley Hebert - Episode 9

Tonight's episode took us to beautiful Fiji!
Right off the bat we see the return of Ryan P.!  You know, that one guy that got sent home two episodes ago.
He flew all the way to Fiji to make sure Ashley really made the right decision about him and had no regrets.  "I want more time together to see where this might go.  Just think about it."  Ashley told him she would.

Her first date in Fiji was with Ben.
They boarded a nice boat and took it for a ride along the Fiji coast.  They got to snorkel in a really cool reef.  They enjoyed dinner on the beach.  Ben feels he is moving closer towards the "I love you" stage with Ashley.  When Ben is offered the Fantasy Suite he jumps at the chance to spend more time with Ashley.  He lifts her up, honeymoon style, and carries her inside.  So romantic.

Second date of the episode was with Constantine.
They took a helicopter ride over Fiji.  Cliff jumped into a pond that had a huge waterfall dumping into it.  They enjoyed a picnic by the pond.  And then the mood of the date suddenly changes.  Constantine isn't as intimate with her as she would want him to be at this point in the game.  Dinner turned out to be just awkward as Constantine admits to Ashley that he's not the guy for her because he's simply not in love with her.  He respects her too much to accept an invitation into the Fantasy Suite when he knows he's not in it to win it.  Ashley goes back to her room...alone and Constantine packs his bags.

The next day Ashley finally sees Ryan to give him the news.  She doesn't want to spend time with him any more and she's confident in the decision she made about sending him home.  Ryan is glad that she's happy and that's all that matter to him.  So, we again see the departure of Ryan P.

The third and final date was with J.P.
Their physical chemistry is instant as they give each other a hug for the first time since the hometown dates.  She is definitely more touchy-feely with him than any of the other guys.  They have a great connection.  They board a sea plane and spend the day on their own private island.  At dinner Ashley tells J.P. about the events of the week and Constantine's early departure.  J.P. is shocked, but glad at the same time.  Just one less guy he has to worry about.  Ashley offers J.P. a night in the Fantasy Suite and he replies "Uh, yeah.  I think I'm into that."  J.P. is in love with Ashley, but doesn't want to tell her that just yet.  He's afraid of getting hurt.

Despite Constantine taking himself out of the race, Ashley still holds a rose ceremony to allow the guys to accept their roses.  She wants them to know this is a two-way street and they have to accept her just as much as she accepts them.  Luckily, they both accepted their roses and next week they will get to meet her CrAzY family!

So, tell me!  Who will Ashley end up with?
Will it be J.P.
Or Ben

Ashley Hebert - Episode 8

Tonight Ashley got to travel to the remaining 4 guys hometowns to meet their families.  First one up was Constantine who's from Atlanta, GA.
He started out the date by taking Ashley to a restaurant he owns in Cumming, GA.  It's an Italian place (even though he's Greek).  They built their own pizza and salad together and then ate it.  After that he took her over to his parents house.  There she got to meet his Mom, Dad, and Sister.  Things were going along well...and quietly...until all of the sudden the doorbell rang!  Surprise!  It's Constantine's WHOLE ENTIRE family!  Ashley was excited about the surprise and enjoyed getting to meet more people than she had expected.

Second hometown was Ames in Chads Ford, PA.
He wasted no time in introducing Ashley to his family.  She met his Nieces, Nephews, Sister, and Mother.  We found out on this episode that Ames not only lost his biological Father to cancer, but his step-father, as well.  Ames's sister really dug deep to find out more about Ashley and make sure she was a good fit for her brother.  Ashley admitted that her relationship with Ames has progressed slower than it has with the other remaining guys.  After meeting the fam, Ames took Ashley to a lovely grove of Magnolia trees to picnic under. From there they rode in a horse-drawn carriage.  All very romantic and whimsical.

Third hometown was with Ben F. in Sonoma, CA.
Ben owns a winery in Sonoma so, it was only fitting that he take Ashley there and get her nice and drunk off of his tasty wine.  He gave her a little sample of his wine when he first met her and she'd been craving it ever since.  I think she might've been more excited to see the wine than Ben, to be honest.  After a short picnic in the winery he took her to his parents house to meet his family.  Ashley got to meet Ben's Mother and Sister.  Ben's Sister is very protective over him and has her doubts that Ashley is the one for him.

The fourth and final hometown was with J.P. in Roslyn, NY.
J.P. surprised Ashley by taking her roller skating!  Ashley felt instantly transported back into the 7th grade.  She loved it!  Then it was off to his parents house where she met his Mom, Dad, Brother, and his Brother's Girlfriend.  We saw mostly J.P.'s Mom on this date because she had, by far, the most to say.  J.P. got his heart broken in his last relationship and she didn't want to see a repeat.  Who can blame her?  By the end of the date J.P. admits that he can't say he's in love with Ashley yet, but he feels he may be in denial of his true feelings.

In the end, Ashley simple didn't see herself with...
Ames.  I'll sure miss his non-stop concussion-like state.  Better luck next time, buddy.

I'm now taking votes for next week's contest!  Send me your vote of who you think will go home next week!  Will it be J.P., Ben, or Constantine?  You have until Monday at 5pm to submit your votes.  People who pick the right guy sent home will win a fabulous prize just like the ones we gave away today!

Ashley Hebert - Episode 7

Tonights episode took the guys to beautiful Taiwan.

Ashley's first date was with Constantine.
They took a train to a tiny village and made a lantern of wishes.  They had a fun dinner conversation and then sent their lantern floating up into the sky.  The idea was for their wishes to come true after sending it on it's way.
The date was short, yet sweet.

The second date was with Ben F.
Ben and Ashley took a moped through a gorgeous canyon in Taiwan.  Over dinner they discussed hometowns and what it would be like if Ashley was to meet Ben's family.  They also talked about the "L Word".  Ben says he's starting to fall in love with Ashley and Ashley is feeling the same.

Tonights group date was with Ames, J.P., and Lucas.
Don't worry guys.  Ashley has a horrible date planned for you, too.  We wouldn't want you to feel like you were left out of this experience at all.  Ashley took the guys to a district in Taiwan that is known for wedding photography.  Apparently in Taiwan they are serious about their wedding photos and it's kind of a big deal.  So, she made the guys all dress up in traditional Taiwan wedding gear and she got into a wedding dress and they all posed for cutesy photos.  Of course J.P. got jealous when Ashley locked lips with both Lucas AND Ames in their photoshoots.  That J.P. is sure a jealous guy.  At the end of the date she awarded the rose to J.P. to reassure him of his place in her heart.

The final date of the episode was with Ryan P.
I'm not gonna lie.  This date made me cry.  It was doomed to fail from the start.  They began the date by visiting a temple and rolling some stones to see if their wishes would come true...they didn't.  They continued their uneventful date by taking a walk around a park and then stopping for a picnic lunch.  It was there that Ashley knew that she just wasn't romantically interested in Ryan anymore.  There was no spark.  No passion.  She was very honest with Ryan and just let him know exactly what she was feeling...which was nothing at all.  Ryan was crushed.  His tears seemed genuine...(genuine enough for someone that wants to be the next Bachelor.)  But, it did make me sad because he really does seem to want to find that special someone.  All the single ladies out there, please hit Ryan up.  He's lonely.  Ryan spends the rest of the night walking the Taiwan streets alone and then heading back home to California.

At the final rose ceremony Ashley's mind is made up.  She already knows who she is going to send home.  There is no need for a cocktail party.  She sent home the southern gentleman, Lucas.
Next week is the hometown dates and our weekly contests will begin!  Get excited!  The remaining guys are Constantine, J.P., Ben and Ames.
Send me an email casting your next vote of who YOU think she'll send home next!  Whoever picks the right one will win a prize next Tuesday!

Ashley Hebert - Episode 6

On last nights episode the crew headed to Hong Kong, China to continue on their quest to finding true love.

But more on that after we witness the return of...Bentley.
You can watch the entire return here.  You can tell Ashley still has feelings for Bentley, but he just has no interest whatsoever.  Sad.  He pretty much just wanted a free vacay to Hong Kong.  You should've picked up the phone and called, Bentley.  Now Ashley looks like a fool.

Now that Ashley can finally move on she takes Lucas out on a date.
They walk around the streets of Hong Kong and try out some local food.  After that they head over to a pier to see the city skyline the best way there is.  On a boat.  They shared their first kiss together and then she gave him a rose.  Then they danced the night away.

On the group date, Ashley invited along Ryan P., Blake, Constantine, Ames, Ben F., and Mickey.  The guys had to rally up a Dragon Boat Racing team of complete strangers they met off the street.

Once they had assembled their team of strangers the race was on!
Ashley hopped on one of the boats for moral support.
Ames and Mickey's team won!  Look at how hard they worked.
At the end of the date Ryan P. was awarded the rose.  The other guys weren't very happy about that because Ryan's happiness makes them angry.  They want Ashley to see Ryan for the goofball he is, but apparently she doesn't.  Can't say that I blame her.  I think he's a nice enough guy so far.

The final one-on-one date was with J.P.
Ashley felt bad that their last one-on-one was tainted by Bentley leaving her.  So, she gave him another one.  They enjoyed a nice dinner in a park.  Then Ashley felt it would be necessary to open up to J.P. about Bentley's return and let him know that she's moved on from him.  J.P. takes the news well and appreciates her honesty with him.  In the end he gets a rose!

The other guys are not so kind about the news of Bentley's brief return.  Ashley plans on telling all of the guys about Bentley at the final cocktail party before the rose ceremony.  The overall reaction from them is anger.  They felt like she should already be moved on from Bentley because he left her over a week and a half ago.  They feel like Ashley is wasting their time and efforts to woo her.  Most of them get over the shocking news except for Mickey.  Mickey says to Ashley "I don't know what you saw in Bentley.  If that's what you're looking for in a guy, please send me home."  So, Ashley tells Mickey to take the initiative and send himself home.  So, he does.  Mickey is sent off on his own private boat home.

The two guys not moving "foward" with Ashley are Blake & Mickey:
Next week they're off to Taiwan!

Ashley Hebert - Episode 5

Another episode in wonderful Thailand!  Tonight the guys took a short flight up to Chiang Mai, the largest and most culturally significant city in northern Thailand.

Her first date was with Ben F.
They jumped into a taxi and headed to a shopping market in central Chiang Mai.  They painted pretty umbrellas.  They shared a "mental kiss" by a Thai Temple.  Then enjoyed a romantic dinner in a candlelit flower patch.  Ashley enjoyed their time together so she gave him a rose!  She said that Ben just said everything that she wanted to hear. (which could also raise some red flags, but who knows?)

Then on the group date, love is worth FIGHTING for in Thailand!  Ashley takes Constantine, Ames, Nick, Blake, Lucas, Ryan P., J.P., and Mickey out for some Muay Tai training.  The guys are put through 3 brutal hours of training and are sweating like crazy.  Just when they think they are exhausted Ashley lets them know that they will be going to a public fighting ring to fight each other in combat.  Yay!  Way to go ABC.  You've managed to pick yet another terrible date idea for this season.  Each of the guys is paired up with another to fight out their frustrations, but Ryan P. took things a little too far when he gave Ames a CONCUSION!  Ames kept saying that he was ok, but Ashley could tell that something was wrong.  He had a very glazed over look on his face.  So, she pulled aside the ABC producers and they had Ames taken to the hospital.  It turned out he just had a mild concusion and was fine.  On the group date Blake was the one that won the rose!

The final date of the night was the dreaded two-on-one.  She takes two guys out.  There is one rose.  One stays, one goes!  She picked William and Ben C. for this one.

As soon as William gets some alone time with Ashley he lets her know that he's overheard Ben C. telling the guys how much he's looking forward to getting back into online dating when he gets home.  Yikes.  I think dating on multiple continents beats online dating, but to each their own.  Instead of pulling Ben aside and talking to him about it she just tells him he's going home.  Poor Ben.  Now go home.

William is estatic that he has Ashley all to himself now.  They enjoy an elephant ride and dinner before Ashley decides that she's not feeling it with William either.  He's sent home before dessert is even served.  I would've insisted on taking it to go.

At the final rose ceremony the mood is tense as the guys anxiously await to see if they are awarded a rose (and a bigger slice of Ashley's heart).  In the end, she dropkicked Nick.

Next Monday they head to Hong Kong, China!  We'll also see the return of Bentley.  Can't wait for that!

Ashley Hebert - Episode 4

Tonight's episode took place in beautiful Thailand!
The guys were super excited to go and leave the L.A. mansion forever!

Ashley's first date in Thailand was with Constantine.
They were supposed to go out on a boat to a private beach, but Mother Nature had other plans for them.  Their boatman said the water was too rough to go out on the boat and that they would have to make other plans.  So, Ashley took Constantine into town and they enjoyed a shopping trip through the streets of Phuket.  By the end of the date, Ashley was impressed with how Constantine carried himself and so she gave him a rose!

This episodes group date consisted of: Mickey, Ben F., Lucas, Ryan P., West, J.P., Blake, Ben C., Nick, & William.

They had a really cool group date.  They got to visit an orphange in Thailand that had children in it that were misplaced by the tsunami that hit back in 2004.  They fixed the place up, painted it, and set-up some new beds for them.  All of the guys really enjoyed it and some were forever changed.  Tensions ran high on the date as some of the guys are starting to get really competitive and jealous of how much time Ashley is spending with other guys.  Guys are so dramatic!

The final one-on-one date went to Ames.
The first thing they did on their date was go out on a boat to tour all the small islands of Thailand.  It is beautiful there!  Then they set out in a small kayak and explored some caves together.  Such a romantic setting for a first date.  After the kayaking adventure they sat down to an intimate dinner where Ashley and Ames enjoyed deep, interesting conversation.  Ashley loved getting to know him more and was pleasantly surprised by some of the things she learned about Ames.  So, he got a rose!

During the cocktail party, before the rose ceremony, Ashley wanted to ask the guys the tough questions.  She wanted to make sure that there wasn't another Bentley hiding out in her remaining group of guys.  One big topic of the night was Ryan P.
Apparently, the guys have a problem with his happy-go-lucky demeanor.  They feel that he's happy ALL the time and just has too much energy.  I think he ruffled a few feathers during the group date, too because he's a natural delegator.

In the end, Ashley only sent one guy packing and it was West!
Next week's episode looks like another must watch!  We just may see more of our dear Bentley from Salt Lake City.  Don't quote me on that.  That's just my assumption!

Ashley Hebert - Episode 3

Ashley's first date on Monday nights episode of The Bachelorette was with Ben C.
She started it off by taking him to a dance studio and taught him a dance that she had coreographed herself.
He didn't ask why he was learning it.  He just assumed this was something she loved to do and so she made it a part of the date.  Little did he know what was in store for him!  They later went for a picnic in a shopping area and Ashley asked Ben if he wanted to start doing the dance he learned.  "Right now?  Here?"
So, they did.  And all of the sudden people that were standing around and watching jumped in there with them and they created a flash mob!
Seriously?  What a lame date.  But they seemed to have fun and enjoy it so, kudos to them.  Then they enjoyed a small concert from Far East Movement (a band).

Moving on to the group date portion of the episode, Ashely invited Bentley, William, Ryan P., Lucas, Ames, Nick, Jeff, Blake, and Ben F. along on this one.  But, first, Jeff (the masked man) had a little business to take care of.  He pulled Ashley aside before they left for the date and revealed his face to her!  Finally, the mask comes off!  And here he is ladies and gentlemen...the man behind the mask!
Is he everything you hoped for?

Moving on.  Now for the group date.  ABC decided on the WORT DATE IDEA EVER for the group date.  Really.  It was a really bad idea.  Way to set up the bachelors for failure.  Ashley took all the guys to a "Roast".  Not the kind with food.  They had the King of Roasts, Jeffrey Ross, coach the guys into roasting...who else?...Ashley.
So, the guys broke up into groups and wrote their material.  A few even had some help from the king himself.
Surprise guys!  You will be roasting Ashley in front of a live audience AND it's a sold-out show!

For the most part the guys made Ashley laugh.
Until William stepped up to the plate...
William took his routine a little too far when he said "Geeze, I signed up for the Bachelorette expecting Chantal or Emily to be here and I get here and it's Ashley!"  Boo William.  Ashley did not find that humorous.  William was so embarrased he almost wanted to leave the show, but he had a feeling that he was meant to stay so, he did.

Now we move on to Bentley's portion of the episode.  Bentley woke up the next morning and decided he wasn't attracted to Ashley at all and wants to leave.  He proceeds to tell the cameras "I'm going to mess with her head, make her cry.  I'm going to tell her I miss my daughter, but really I'm leaving because i'm not that into her."  So, he does.  He makes her cry and she's really sad.  She asks if he's going to come back and he says no.
There is more, but Bentley is not worth my blogging time.  If you want to watch the video of him dumping her, you can find it here.  That video link will tell you all you need to know about dear Bentley from Salt Lake City.

Needless to say, Ashley was feeling really beaten up about this week's events so, she wasn't too excited to have a one-on-one date with J.P. later in the episode.
She asks J.P. if he's ok with just a night in by the fire in their pajamas.  She got J.P. into his P.J.'s!  They had a nice dinner together and good conversation, but I see some red flags with this one.  I think she did, too.

There was no cocktail party before the rose ceremony because Ashley had already made up her mind as to who was going home.  She sent home Chris D. and Jeff (masked guy who is now unmasked).

Then Bentley sent himself home.  Clearly she's better off without him!
